The greens have been renovated and are recovering well. Please be vigilant in repairing pitch marks on the greens, both those made by you and others. This will ensure our greens are as good as they can be for the coming months. I thank you in anticipation of your full co-operation in this regard.

Don’t forget to nominate for the Mixed Foursomes Championship to be held on Sunday May 29. The nomination sheet is in the Pro-shop. If you don’t have a partner and would like to play I’m sure we can find a partner for you.

The Monthly Medals for men during March, April and May are the qualifying rounds for this year’s Match Play Championship. Your best two scratch rounds in these events will be used to determine the sixteen qualifiers in each grade. You must place your name on the nomination sheet in the Pro-shop before teeing off in the May Monthly Medal (7th May). Please check your fixtures book to ensure you are available on dates that matches have to be played. The first two rounds have a “to be played by” date. For these two rounds you may organise with your opponent to play the match on a date to suit yourselves provided it is played by the date shown in the fixtures book. The semi-final and final must be played on the date shown in that book. In the past few years nominations for B and C grades has been poor. If there are insufficient nominations or forfeits awarded during the series the Match Committee will have to evaluate the worth of this event and will probably scrap it for future years. The prizes are very generous so please have a go.

I have negotiated with Golf NSW a Rules seminar to be held at Gosford Golf Club on Monday July 11. This will be an excellent opportunity for all members to enhance their knowledge of the rules of golf in a non-threatening environment.
